ETA: THIS ITEM HAS SOLD

Our first item up for sale is a Colourful Drop Stitch Scarf knit by Canute. Should you be interested in donating to purchase this item, please contact Canute by PM or E-Mail.

Pattern: Drop Stitch Scarf by Christine Vogel of Frazzeled Knits
A big thanks to Christine for allowing us to use her pattern!

Yarn: Merino Fino Print by Trio Wolle (150g / 432 yards)
Colourway: 141 (rainbow)
Weight: Fingering
Fibre: 100% Merino Wool
Washing Instructions: Hand wash cold/warm, stretch to shape and dry flat
Needles: 5mm
Size: approx. 8 ft. 3 inches / 2.25m

Cost for this scarf: Due to the length and quality of the wool we would like to receive a $25 donation for this scarf.

Delivery Time: Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. Can be sent Super Snail with larger donation.

Notes from the knitter:

This scarf is a simple drop stitch scarf with a neat wave effect between the drop stitches. It's a fairly simple knit but requires concentration to avoid dropping stitches that shouldn't be dropped. It falls under the category of lace and does have "holes" (intentional) in it. However, since it is made of a fine merino wool it's still quite warm. It's also very long and can be wrapped around the neck once, twice or even three times according to the desired effect or warmth. The wool itself is quite soft and is not at all scratchy. It's also a bit stretchy, which makes it seem less like wool and more like a blend. It would make a fantastic gift for anyone who enjoys colours and lacy effects. So enough with the talk you say, you want to see pictures you say, well, here it is, modelled by the ever obliging Mr. Bear:

The Whole Thang:

Close Up Detail Shot:

Please note that the colour you see might be a bit different than in reality. It all depends on your monitor settings and my picture taking ability. For the record, the detail shot shows the most accurate colour on my screen.

*raises long ears*

The second item in the Burrow Bazaar is a lovely Halloween Capelet, knitted by the long eared House Elf.

EDIT: Item sold!

Wool: 100% cotton, hand-dyed by me

Size:
Width: 21 1/2 inches (55 cm) at the top, 36 inches (91 1/2 cm) at the bottom
Length/height: 12 1/2 inches (32 cm)

I'm a UK size 14 with broad shoulders and it fits me - I'd say it would fit somebody up to UK size 18 at least. And, of course, somebody of a smaller size.

Cost for this scarf: Due to the uniqueness of the wool, the time spent and the little details added to it, we suggest a $20 donation to Immy for this capelet.

Delivery Time: I can drop it into the post pretty quickly, so time depends on where it's going.

Notes from the knitter:

The Spiderweb pattern is from Stitch and Bitch Nation by Debbie Stoller, and includes purl and drop stitch, slip2, k2tog and move slipped stitches over, and knit 4 stiches into one. I used lace and ribbon instead of the suggested crochet chain and pom-poms to tie it. If anybody has an early edition of the book, there are some errors in this pattern and in other patterns. The corrections can be found here.

I dyed the white wool black with Dylon's hand dye in my kitchen sink, tying off large chunks of the wool with ribbons from an old plastic bag. Then, after rinsing it out thoroughly, I untied the ribbons and put the wool in red dye. Hand-washing definitely recommended, and a dash of vinegar in the last rinse to keep the colour.

Now enough of elfish talk, here's Winnie the Bear on the catwalk....

Detail of the spiderweb pattern

Detail of the lace and ribbon ties with wooden beads

Winky modelling the capelet - it does go very well with a funky hat...

Ears not showing...are hidden under hat Wink

Our next Item for sale are these Ravenclaw Handwarmers Knit by yours truly.

This item has SOLD

Pattern: Improvised Design

Yarn: Bernetta Wolle Sportival
Colourways: 407-05 (Grey) 407-09 (Blue)
Weight: Worsted
Fibre: 50% Merino Wool and 50% Acrylic
Washing Instructions: Hand wash cold/warm, dry flat / Could be machine washed on gentle cycle (cold)
Needles: 4.5mm
Size: Medium (I have short, fat fingers)

Cost for this item: $15 Donation

Delivery Time:
Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. Can be sent Super Snail Mail with larger donation.

Notes from the knitter: These mitts are knit from a merino/acrylic mixture which makes them warm, but very soft and pleasant to wear. Because they aren't 100% wool, they could be used in a milder climate, or in spring / autumn in colder climates. These types of mitts are great for people who have cold hand, but still need to use their fingers.

Please PM me if you're interested.

Our next item for sale are these Ionian Handwarmers Knit by yours truly.

This item has sold

Pattern: Improvised Design

Weight: Worsted
Fibre: 50% Merino Wool and 50% Acrylic
Washing Instructions: Hand wash cold/warm, dry flat / Could be machine washed on gentle cycle (cold)
Needles: 4.5mm
Size: Medium (I have short, fat fingers)

Cost for this item: $15 Donation

Delivery Time: Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. Can be sent Super Snail Mail with larger donation.

Because they aren't 100% wool, they could be used in a milder climate, or in spring / autumn in colder climates. These types of mitts are great for people who have cold hand, but still need to use their fingers. Frankly, I like these so well, that I'm hoping they don't sell. If it gets cold here any time soon, I might just have to take them off the market.

Sorry about the picture quality and the fact that there's only one, but it would be a while before I could get decent pictures in natural light, so I'm just going to use what I have. (The other hand looks just the same, but thankfully has the thumb on the other side).

This is the wool in natural light:

Notes from the crocheter:
This Shawl/Wrap is made from an Acrylic baby yarn, so it's soft and warm. It's a nice size, and has lovely scalloped edges all the way around. With a bit more of a spring coloring to the yarn, and would be a pefect accessory for an Easter Sunday outfit!

Sale Status:SOLD!

Pattern: Diamond Lace Cowl by Knitplaywithfire Blog / Ravelry Site
A big thanks to KPF for allowing us to use her pattern! This pattern is not yet available, but will be soon. This was a test knit, so if you buy this, you'll be getting a prototype! Very Happy

Yarn: Mimi from Bernetta Wolle (50g / 230 yards)
Colourway: 114.24
Weight: Fingering
Fibre: 100% Merino Wool
Washing Instructions: Hand wash cold/warm, stretch to shape and dry flat
Needles: 4mm
Size: approx. 15 inches long, wide enough to fit over anyone's head

Cost for this scarf: $15

Delivery Time: Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. Can be sent Super Snail with larger donation.

Notes from the knitter: As mentioned, this was a test knit for Knitplaywithfire and is a prototype. I love the way it turned out and will certainly use the pattern again. Here it is, modelled by the ever obliging Mr. Bear. It is made of 100% wool, so if you're sensitive, this might not be for you. It is, however, really warm and comfy.

This item has sold

The next item(s) for sale are some handsewn stocking sacks by the mousy newbie herself (Canute has approved me as a volunteer!! ^^).
People interested should pm me.
Oh, stocking sacks are basically like stockings, they serve the same purpose as stockings, but they're easier to fit presents in.
Pattern: Thought it up myself, so i guess it's improvised?
Material used: 'Festive fizz panel' cotton by Makower UK, Dark green fleece, Dark green velvet ribbon.
Size is 37cm (length) by 28.5cm (width).
Suggested donation: $10. (more if you want a 'signed for' Christmas delivery!)
One is currently available. The next should be finished asap.

Our next item up for sale is the Krtek neck warmer knit by Pen. Should you be interested in donating to purchase this item, please contact Pen by PM or E-Mail.

Sale Status:Sold!

Pattern: Krtek by Orlane Flickr / Ravelry Site

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick (50g / 230 yards)
Colorways: Fisherman, Claret, and Green Heather
Weight: Super Bulky/Super Chunky
Fiber: 80% acrylic, 20% wool
Washing Instructions: Machine wash warm medium cycle; Tumble dry low; May be dry cleaned; Do not bleach; Do not iron
Needles: 8mm/US 11
Size: 8 inches x 37 inches

Cost for this scarf: $15

Delivery Time: Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery depending on where you live.

Notes from the knitter: This neck warmer is basically a short scarf that can be buttoned to protect your throat and cover your chest from the cold. The nature of the pattern creates "bubbles" that can be used as button holes, meaning you can use any of them to slip the button through. You can even drape this over your head and button under your chin, though I did not take a picture wearing it that way.

Pics:

Draped loosely:

Draped a little more loosely for added chest coverage:

Wrapped snugly around the neck:
