This thread is for discussion about the debate. Are the Poncy Snape Lovah's kicking tail? Are you now utterly convinced that Snape is Evil, thanks to some powerful arguments? Discuss your thoughts here, and only here.

That's usually how these things go. You end up arguing about ten different trains of thought all at once, it's pretty unstoppable. Just remember that a lot of argument is not necessarily a strong argument.
*cheers the Poncy Snape lovahs* Beat them out with reanalysis!

Kit here, reporting for duty - unfortunately, I had to work today and apparently missed some very forceful and fast debate. Don't worry, I'm not abadoning ship.
Personally, I'm finding it a bit hard to follow the arguments of the Poncies, and it's not because they aren't well thought out and well debated, but that they are so bloody long that I've been sincerely losing focus. So I'd like to repeat Eru's request that we all try to keep our posts to a reasonable length and focus on making one or two really strong arguments.

I'll put in a third vote for shorter posts! LOL Still everyone has had some good arguements - obviously a lot of work prior to the start of the debate. One thing I've noticed is that there seems to be some disagreement on what constitutes evil. Everyone seems to agree that Snape's behavior has been nasty - not much to debate there. The real question is whether he is loyal to Dumbledore or Lord Voldemort because either way he is a git!
I am also in the Snape/Lily shipper camp and I think that's the only reason he turned to DD. To me, that makes him a whole lot more on the "evil" side. Afterall, if LV had gone after the Longbottoms instead of the Potters, Snape would have done nothing! Nonetheless, I do think he was loyal to DD - and evil. ***I would put in a "confused" smiley here, but I can't get my stupid smilies to work****
Go...go...hmmm, not sure which side to cheer for....Go Everyone!

Uh, sorry guys, but it's a bit difficult to keep it short at times. I'll do my best.
*looks at all the snape=evil posts that were posted while she was away*
Oh well .. *dives in*

I am just stopping in to say, this is a great read. I am personally on the Snape is evil side. But win or lose, everyone has some great arguements.

*nervous laugh* I was afraid I was a bit harsh. I hear what you are saying, Pince, and you are right. I was offended by the tone of the others, and..er..well, bit back I guess. I won't again! For my part, I will take your warning to heart. And I've edited my last post and removed all mean references to Poncys in general.
Alright, I really need to go for today. I've Math, English, French, and government homework left and only 4 more hours in the day!
