I think I may have asked this question in the chat room but on an entertainment television show it said that Ralph Fiennes could be playing Lord Voldermort in the GoF.

I personally think he would be a good Voldermort. I was wondering what everyone else thought.

(I don't know if the link will work but if you can get into it, it will show you a picture of him.)

Thank you.

He was Shakespear in 'Shakespear in Love' right? If so he was funny and good looking in that film, not who I would chose for the Dark Lord. But he is a good actor and with some makeup could make a good job of it.

Ginny, you're thinking of his younger brother Joseph.

Ralph Fiennes' most sinister role was in Schindler's List as one of the Camp Guards.

I rather thought he would've been a good Lupin...though, I could definitely see him playing Voldemort. But, there is that thing about his high pitched voice that always strikes me wierd-Voldemort's high pitched voice not Fiennes' <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START Embarassed --><img src=http://pages.prodigy.net/siriusblack/boards/smilies/blush.gif ALT=":blush]<!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> .

Ralph Fiennes would probably be a great Voldy. He's extremely convincingly evil. (Joseph Fiennes not so much)...

Not as scary as like... Willem Dafoe (Think Nosferatu) or Christopher Walken (think everything he ever did)... but I could buy Ralph as The Dark Lord...

Definitely Christopher Walken would make a fantastic Voldemort. He always plays sort of evil character, in movies I saw him in, anyway. Ralph Fiennes, I don't know... I really thought he did a great Amon Goethe in Schindler's List, though.

I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesmally small, is not exactly zero.

He wasn't just a camp guard, he was the head of the camp. And he played Heathcliff in a version of "Wuthering Heights." He was also in "Quiz Show" and "Strange Dayz."

Don't ask me why I know all that. It's not that I'm obsessed with him. My husband's best friend said my brain is a "cesspool of knowledge." That's about right.

I think Fiennes would make a good Voldemort. His voice is very sinister, if I'm thinking of the right man. maybe a bit too sinister. There have been a HUGE amount of rumors about who's playing Voldemort, but Ralph Fiennes seems to be popping up everywhere. Sounds good to me. Hopefully whoever they cast will live up to the fans' definition of You-Know-Who!

I think Ralph Fiennes would be a great Voldemort. Plus you have to remember, they are only casting british people into the parts. So any rumours about u.s. stars playing the part cant have any truth to them. One problem with Ralph Fiennes though. I always pictured Voldemort as very tall, long and kinda spindly. This doesnt descripe Ralph Fiennes. But i guess that is just my view Smile

Well I guess now we are really going to see what kind of Voldermort he will make!

I still stand by that he will play the part brilliantly...I can't wait to see the movie now!

Well, we have a Voldemort! I think his skills as an actor will make him a great Voldemort and I am very excited that WB continues to cast such accomplished actors in the HP films.

You have to admit the guy is good. He was absolutely evil as Heathcliffe in Wuthering Heights. Rent the DVD if you haven't seen it - it's much closer to the book than the 70's version with Timothy Dalton. I think that's the only movie I've ever seen with him - I didn't want to see Schindler's List, nor have I been moved to see Quiz Show or The English Patient...

I swear, two weeks ago I'd heard John Malkovitch was supposed to play Voldemort. Now he looks reptilian (see Dangerous Liasons!). And I agree that Willem Dafoe would have looked the part as well - He's hysterical and scary in turns in Shadow of the Vampire.

They are in the middle of shooting. I admit to being extremely dissappointed a few minutes ago when I checked IMDB and saw the release date of 11/5/05. Come on people, we need our next Sirius Black fix already!!!!

I think he's too good looking to play Voldemort... But Stage Makeup makes anything possible.

I have only seen him in "Maid In Manhattan", but I have faith in the casters for the HP movies, they have done at the very least a decent job with all of the characters except for Lupin (who I didn't like at all.)

It'll be interesting to see it.

Oh goody oh goody! I think Ralph Fiennes's great for playing Voldy. He's got native evilness heh. Uh I can hardly wait for GoF to be released!

Did anybody see Wuthering Heights? How did he manage playing Heatcliff? I think I'll look it up at the movie rentals..

I just watched him in Wuthering Heights and he does a fair version of Heathcliff. He is a brilliant actor so anything he does is pretty good.

I saw the original version of Wuthering Heights with Laurence Olivier so it is hard for me to say that he did a really good version of Heathcliff because I think Laurence Olivier was the best.

It is worth seeing...The overall movie isn't brilliant but RF does a lot to hold it up!

Ralph Fiennes as Voldemor will be great. Just se his performance in Red Dragon or Shidler's list.
