Whom does Sirius look like?

<FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>Yes, after the PoA movie has been released it becomes more and more difficult not to associate Sirius with Gary Oldman - but each of us still has her own image of Padfoot Wink

I picked up photos of men who, according to different people, look exactly like Sirius. Does any of them fit your fancy?

My absolute favorite (and the one I consider dead on) is Kristin's version of Sirius in the fanart gallery. That's exactly how I had him pictured in my head.

Gary, of course. I can't wait to see him in the "fixed up Sirius in the fire" scene in GoF (If they put that scene in there). Heh, I'd also say the guy on on the cover of a book I'm looking at looks like Sirius. That book would be Magic's Pawn. Raggedy hair, gray eyes, a distraught look...

None of them - my idea of Sirius looks pretty much like Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn in LotR.

None of them look like my idea of post-Azkaban Sirius but, the first one looks like how I think of Teenage Sirius so that's who I voted. :DD

Just curious...some of those guys looked familiar, but I couldn't place any of them.

BTW, I still say Hugh Jackman in Van Helsing mode looks like my idea of Sirius - and the guy is such a beanpole that he'd make a fine post-Azkaban Sirius in my book...lol. Of course, that is my personal idea of Sirius - no disrespect meant to you Gary Oldman fans!

I'm a Johnny Depp girl. I would have had to, as my friend who feels the same so eloquently put it, "Smack myself with a sizable wrench to keep myself from molesting the screen had he played Sirius Black." It would have been perfect exactly as he looked when he played Jack Sparrow, except no bandanna and pirate clothes because they, sadly, just wouldn't fit the story. There is this one part where Johnny Depp AKA Jack says "I couldn't resist mate!" when Barbosa see's he's stolen a piece of the gold, and I could just completely see Sirius saying that exact thing in that exact tone after nicking something from one of the other Marauders.

I read the books at least 5 times before I even knew who Johnny Depp was and I still pictured Sirius looking remarkably like him.

Ah well. I'll have to accept Gary Oldman, who is very good as Sirius also. But my mind Sirius will never change!

Steve Hewitt, the drummer from Placebo, has always been the image of Sirius for me... Long dark locks with a slight wave, full lips, a bit ravaged (occasionally) from hard living, huge grin, a hint of sadness in his eyes, incredibly handsome...

Although, there is something to be said for Johnny too <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START Very Happy

Johnny Depp - something both Snape fans and Black fans seem to agree on.

There was a rock group in the early eighties that I can't think of the name right now that played the same type of music as Bon Jovi that had a dark haired lead singer that wasn't that bad looking. You know that pre Azkaban Sirius looked like a pretty-boy rocker.

Going back in music a bit, I'll throw in a guy I used to date myself (well before he was famous) - Australian musician Rick Springfield. He's 6'2", used to wear his hair shoulder length when I was seeing him in the early 70's, and he was (and is) pretty lean. He also had great green eyes that Harry would envy! I can think back to a time when he used to sit on the living room floor and just play around with his guitar - oh yes, those were the days. Of course, being an unemployed musician meant he was the scum of the earth to my mother, but once he was on General Hospital and started having records on the radio it became "so, how is that nice Rick - have you heard from him lately?" Jeeze.
