OK...Sirius has ALWAYS been sexy to me. I think I like the untouchable aspect of him. Like in the Pensive scene. That's what really nailed it. I mean, sure, JK Rowling said that he was handsome, but I really swooned over his effortless...everything. Smarts, wit, looks...just everything. His love for danger is also appealing to me. I almost never take risks, and the fact that he tries to take risks every moment of the day is extremely sexy for me.
What I wonder is if he ever used his sexiness to get girls at Hogwarts. I mean, it's known that he didn't get married, but I find it hard to believe that he didn't try to snog at least some of those girls.

From the timeline, Harry parents were around 19 when they died... so they got married pretty young.
Not many people have serious relationships at that age, especially not Sirius, but I bet he was dating before he joined OoP or even after.

It'd be nice to see if Rowlings picks up on any old flames. But then right now we don't know many people who were at Hogswarts then as students. Just Lily, James, Peter (wormtail), Sirius, Snape, and Remus.

Maybe there are more names from the Pensieve that I missed-- we can guess who might have been at their class from looking at Harry's classmates' names, but I think most of their parents were just a bit older than Harry's parents. (Exceptions: Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle?). The Weasleys are a bit older than the Potters were, as their oldest children, as far as I can judge, are roughly 8-10 years older than Harry.

I sure wish we knew more about who Sirius might have snogged, but my guess is he was busy beating off the women with a stick to find anything permanent-- he might well have been chased by older women, not just the girls. I'm willing to bet he dated a few "older" women (20-somethings), so even a full Hogwarts roster might not yield the right names.

So maybe that's why we don't hear much about his love life in those memories. Harry is not ready or interested in his godfather's past love exploits. Sirius died before Harry could ask him for any love advice.

Also, other than the fact it's irrelevant so far, Rowling said she could not show Ron's swearing more than indirectly, even though he's THE type to use a lot of bad language as it's a children's book. So nothing too PG.

SIGH. And so we all howl at missing what could have been steamy reading. So we'll learn who Sirius snogged only if a lady friend of his becomes helpful to Harry. I'm disappointed as well.

Maybe we should have Rowlings write an companion book to HP from Sirius' POV one of those days, so we can just get that steamy reading we all want.

Poor guy, he really basically was locked up for nearly half of his life. It's not too hard to see him as emotionally arrested in some ways, from being removed from the world so young, and suffering from deep and turblent emotions from his time in prison.

I have a Seriously Black dog myself, who did 2 months in the pound as a teen pup. Not aggressive, loves kids, very alert. He's loyal, smart, strong, young, and fast-- and reckless because he doesn't always listen or use his brains when he's excited.

What reminds me of Sirius is that he'll jump into a den of lions if I tell him to... and that's scary to me. Woof!

Sirius had always been sexy, even at the scene when he came right out of azkaban. his rebellious personality, everything. He is the only one to have been able to enter my hear since I read Harry Potter.

For me, Sirius became sexy in retrospect after reading the third book. Because of his description, (and let's face it, his behavior as well.) it was only after I found out that he was innocent and had a chance to consider the book as a whole that I thought "Hmmm, nice!" I think it was the combined description of his picture at James and Lily's wedding, Mc Gonagall's story about how he raised hell at Hogwarts as a student, and the revelation that he was innocent that really cinched the "sexy" in my mind.



Perhaps it took other people longer, through the fourth book or even into the fifth to come to a "Sirius is sexy" mindset, but for me, all it took was PoA, and I know I'm not the only one. It always amazed me that despite the fact that there was very little actual description of his looks and personality, so many people seem to have come to the same conclusion about him.

For me it was PoA, it´s really just his personality!
He is rebellious, dark,a bad boy, doesn´t care for the rules.....and just the way he speaks.
And i think it really shows Jos skills as a writer....because alot of people thought tat he was sexy and all that BEFORE we saw the memory scene.

I think that I first thought Sirius was really sexy when I read Order of the Phoenix. I mean, in Prisoner of Azkaban when we find out that he's innocent after all, I was like ok. So he's good. His personality shows more in Goblet of Fire, like when he's talking to Harry. I really admired him for hiding out in a cave and eating rats and all this stuff just to support Harry and contact him while he was in the tournament. (I think a big reason why I didn't think he was sexy earlier was because I was pretty young when I first read Prisoner of Azkaban. I didn't think like anyone was sexy.) Then in Order of the Phoenix, I was just like wow. I mean, I know that the first description of him was that he was kind of...gross, but that's just because he'd been locked up for 12 years. In the wedding photo he was supposed to be good looking, and in the flashback. But his sexiness is a lot more than that--it's his personality, I think. He's loyal, smart, and such a badass. I mean, he has a flying motorcycle. How cool is that?

hehehehehe!! I have thought the same thing in hoping that JK will write book inserts for the Marauder years and so on but...I don't think she will.

Oh and I also have a little black Snuffles addition to my family. He is 6 months old and is a solid black Scottie. Boy is he a terror or what?

I have to say that Sirius Black was hot the day he was born. Just kidding...or am I? I believe that once he stepped on the train to Hogwarts, he was already turning a few heads and to me, that will always be my Sirius, the babe who turns heads no matter what he looks like or wears. But the Hogwarts years are my favorite because to me, he is himself with little or no worries at all (forget the family stuff). I just can picture him the most vibrant and charming male on the face of the planet.

I first came across Sirius, and the Harry Potter books incidentally(!), whilst listening to the Prisoner of Azkaban audio book on a journey, the English one read by Stephen Fry. Stephen Fry does a great voice for Sirius, deep and cracked and quite sexy!

Maybe I'm a bit weird and twisted, but I thought Sirius sounded sort of sexy in a bad boy sort of way before the Shrieking Shack scene and hoped he wasn't as bad a guy as he was being portrayed as up to that point in the book! Perhaps this was partly because of the decription of his face in the Potter's wedding picture. I was overjoyed when the Shrieking Shack scene revealed he was innocent, and that whole scene, as others have already said, highlighted his loyalty and passion, which sealed his attractiveness for me!

For me, I didn't view Sirius as sexy until we got to see a couple glimpses of his past. When he was described in the present, as being rather scruffy, shaggy, and entirely filthy...that definitely wasn't a turn-on for me.

I think I really saw him as good-looking in the Order of the Phoenix when Harry saw a glimpse of Snape's worst memory. The way Sirius was described there, his casual yet attractive and completely arrogant attitude really got my attention. If only he had the chance to let himself transform back into that Sirius before he had been killed. So I guess it seems like I'm a late Sirius bloomer, like some of the others here. He didn't strike me as interesting in that way until it was nearly too late.

For me, it's never been a matter of what he looks like in any case.
I don't actually have a set image of him, in any case.
What draws me to characters, especially in books (in manga or films it is partly looks) is their personality and history.
So I like Sirius (and kind of Remus as well) because I am a sucker for good characters with really sad pasts. So the fact that the first time we see him he looks awful and has just escaped from Azkaban doesn't turn me off, becasue what he looks like really isn't the point.
I was already interested by the time we found out he was handsome, and it really didn't make that much difference.
That's probably quite a good thing, actually. It would be slightly disturbing if I found my favourite Harry Potter characters sexy in the looks department, considering they are both, what, twenty years older than me?

I definatly agree that, for reasons unknown, I was so excited to see the chapter titled Padfoot Returns in GOF. I have no idea why we all suddenly began clinging to Sirius as if our lvies depended on it. I s'pose in book 3 we realize that his life has been, to put it cleanly, crap. So we sympathize & sometimes empathize for this tragic figure. Could that be the reason? Because I know hoped on the 'Sirius band wagon' far before I found out he had been sexy

The third book, surely, was the beggining of it. The obssession I mean. Once I realised who he truly was and what he had to endure [during those 12 years in Azkaban], just sorta lifted up his image.
During the Shack scene JK tells us, when describing how dreadfull he looked like, that beneath that mask of suffering and thristh for revenge there once were a truly handsome face...

There! When I put together his handsome image + the 'new' person JK just presented to us [James' and Lily's best mate] was when it officially began.
From that moment on the obssesion just keeps growing, and even the suffered, pale, thin and long-haired person becomes a true hero. Till the [is that it?] very end.

To me Sirius became sexy after Harry found that picture from James and Lilys Wedding.
On this point i imagined him like i imagine him!

And his rebellious character makes him sooooooo sexy!!
